Dr. Chris Warner is an Interventional Radiologist who joined MIPS in 2018 as their Interventional Pain Specialist. Dr. Warner provides comprehensive interventional spine and pain management combining his expertise in Musculoskeletal Imaging (interpreting X-rays, CTs, and MRIs of the spine and joints) with cutting edge minimally invasive procedures to provide immediate pain relief. He provides the full range of spine/pain interventions including steroid/anesthetic injections, stem cells, rhizotomy, and neurolysis, vertebral augmentation, spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal pain medication delivery. Dr. Warner’s particular area of interest involves treating Vertebral Compression Fractures performing more than 500 Vertebral Augmentation procedures and has written multiple papers and book chapters on the topic including the most recent published meta-analysis on Vertebral Augmentation. Dr. Warner also performs the full scope of Interventional Radiology treating arteries, veins, hepatobiliary disease, and cancer. He has worked extensively with oncologists and surgeons to provide multidisciplinary cancer treatment performing chemoembolization, Y90 radioembolization, and ablation (microwave, cryoablation, and ethanol ablation) of tumors in the liver and abdomen. Dr. Warner believes in treating the whole patient and uses multiple pain management techniques to address the discomfort that can be associated with these illnesses.


Dr. Warner also maintains a strong interest in non-profit and global health work. Prior to medical school, he was Mr. Warner in the classroom teaching High School science in a low-income neighborhood in Chicago as a Teach For America Corps Member. He and two of his fellow medical students co-founded Comunidades Unidas Peru (CU Peru) an NGO on the Peruvian Amazon utilizing the WHO’s Integrated Management of Childhood Illness curriculum to train village healthcare workers. If he’s not abroad traveling the globe you can find the Colorado native on the ski slopes or in the mountains.
