About Me
Kari Reynolds Wedell is a nurse practitioner at MIPS specializing in pelvic pain in both women and men. She worked for nearly 10 years with Dr. Nel Gerig at The Pelvic Solutions Center sharing care of patients in the practice until Dr. Gerig’s retirement in 2022.
Kari’s passion and expertise is the treatment of lumbopelvic pain disorders and pelvic health in a holistic, comprehensive and interdisciplinary manner. Conditions treated include pelvic venous disease, pudendal neuralgia, pelvic floor muscle spasm and dysfunction, vulvodynia/vulvar vestibulitis, interstitial cystitis / painful bladder syndrome, painful urination/defecation, dyspareunia/painful sex conditions, urinary urgency/frequency, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and other manifestations of pelvic pain. She performs pudendal nerve blocks and trigger point injections if these treatments are necessary.
Kari graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and is board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Her undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, American Holistic Nurses Association and the Denver Sexual Medicine Alliance. She has taken numerous courses on pain neuroscience education and attends conferences to stay up to date on the latest pelvic pain research.
