Biography

Dr. Samantha Huq is a dual fellowship trained vascular and interventional radiologist and breast & vascular imaging radiologist. Dr. Huq received her medical education and diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She then completed her fellowship in interventional radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center followed by a breast & vascular imaging fellowship from the same institution.

Dr. Huq focuses on women’s health issues such as pelvic pain due to venous disease and uterine fibroids. Using minimally invasive techniques, she treats May-Thurner syndrome, performs gonadal vein embolization and uterine fibroid embolization. In addition, Dr. Huq has a special interest in superficial venous disease including the treatment of varicose veins.  Dr. Huq strongly believes in listening, educating, guiding and giving patients ownership of their health.

When she is not treating patients, Dr. Huq continues to pursue her passion for global health. After completing her undergraduate at Wellesley College, she earned the prestigious Fulbright scholarship which allowed her to study healthcare management in the developing world. She remains involved with various organizations in an effort to bring minimally invasive cutting-edge technology to underserved regions.

Personal

Dr. Huq enjoys spending time with her family. She is an avid runner and has completed several marathons including New York and Boston.
